My background.....
Experienced French/English freelance translator/interpreter having worked in rail, aeronautical, industrial valve and food industry for over 20 years namely with Alstom Traction Ltd UK, Intertechnique SA (Zodiac) France, MCM SA, France (Abattoir machinery), and Rockwell Valves SA, France.
English mother-tongue, but having lived in France for 30 years and obtained French nationality, French language level is near native. Wide knowledge of French culture, its language and colloquialisms.
Experienced in interpreting, for factory visits, tradefair (IPA Paris), hospitality and business meetings. Extensive technical documentation translation experience both from and into French.
Experienced in using CAT tools for translation and formatting - (MemoQ)
Full member of the Institute of Linguists (MCIL) and qualified Public Service Interpreter, holder of DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) - language French – pathway English Law. I have carried out successful face to face interpreting contracts for the Police, and the Ministry of Justice. Experience on Crown Court Cases. I also carry out public service assignments for the NHS, CAFCASS, Crime investigation agencies and work regularly with solicitors.
I am based in Lancashire, in the North West but will travel.
